Welcome to Leading Children Ltd, our training company that has been operating for over 12 years. The ethos of our company is a belief in a child’s right to take a leadership role in their learning. The name ‘Leading Children’ was selected because of its dual meaning that as practitioners we lead children, but more importantly we promote their right and ability to lead themselves and us in our shared learning journey.

“I have been a teacher, lecturer (Bradford College Undergraduate Teacher Training Programme), Deputy Head of Hirst Wood Primary School, and am currently working as a consultant in Early Years, KS1, KS2, and recently in KS3/4. I worked for Early Excellence for a number of years as an associate consultant, leading LEA cluster training on ‘Outdoors’ and ‘Principles into Practice,’ in Liverpool, Hull, Wakefield, Huddersfield, and Barnsley. I am also a trained ECERS auditor. My book, ‘Time of Our Lives?’ was commissioned by Bradford LEA, and was given to every primary school as part of their ‘Hands on Learning’ series. For the past 3 years I have been sponsored by Provident Financial Group Ltd to run maths and literacy programmes in primary and secondary schools nationwide- namely in Bradford, Kent, Leeds, and Birmingham. I am passionate about making learning real, relevant, and exciting for Children. I am equally as passionate about supporting our treasured hard-working practitioners.”

Diane Long, Deputy Head, Beckfoot Priestthorpe Primary School, Bradford.

“After last night’s training session the emails were abuzz with positive feedback and ideas from the teachers. Today, I have been at both Brompton-Westbrook and Byron Primary and both school are of excited teachers who have made tweaks to their plans for today in order to deliver lessons with a Reciprocal Reading approach. I think that proves an amazing and instant impact of the training we had; the teaching staff are like excited little children!” – Jon Carthy, Headteacher, Byron Primary School, Chatham.
